INDUS RIVER SYSTEM AUTHORITY SITUATION VACANT (Project Coordinator)
The Government of Pakistan has received soft term loan (IDA Credit) from the World Bank for Additional Financing (AF) of the Indus 21 Water Sector Capacity Building and Advisory Services Project (Indus 21 WCAP). A part of the IDA credit has been earmarked for "Indus Basin Irrigation System: Hydraulic Calibration of 17 Key Sites through Discharge Measurements". Applications are invited for the post of Project Coordinator in the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) Government of Pakistan, Islamabad.
Qualifications and Experience
• A minimum of Masters degree or equivalent in CiviVWater Resources Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university/institute with a desirable experience of Ten (10) years in water resources management in large river basins, water resources planning & development, regulation, operation of dams, barrages and large irrigation system, hydrological and hydraulic modeling, monitoring of water distribution system in the integrated river system training of relevant staff of large integrated irrigation network. • Minimum Five (05) years' experience as Team Leader in last ten (10) years in similar projects is desirable. • He/She should be familiar with large hydraulic structure designating/operations, river flow measurement techniques. Telemetry/SCADA systems in river/canal networks, hydro-informatics and GIS/Remote Sensing. • Some international experience and knowledge of water distribution related to the Indus Basin System will be a plus. • Working experience on the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other allied donors aided projects will be preferred. • Familiarity with Government structures, operations, and procedures alongwith World Bank/Asian Development Bank guidelines. • Familiar with MS office. 111=311111 1. The initial appointment will be on contraatiasis for one year and the period is likely to be extended, subject to satisfactory. performance till the completion off the project i.e. 30" June, 2021.
