Heads of Seerat Chairs
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) intends to establish six (6) Seer* Chairs in public sector universities of Pakistan to conduct research and offer educational programmes on the following aspects of the life of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him):
I. Leadership and Governance ii. Inter-falth and Communal Harmony iii. Social Justice and Welfare iv. Business, Commerce and Property Rights v. Education and Knowledge vi. Sustainable Development
The Chairs will head research teams of interdisciplinary scholars focusing on prevalent challenges being faced by Pakistani society and will provide guidance in light of the example of the Holy Prophet (Peace be Upon Him). HEC seeks applications from Pakistani and foreign scholars of international repute with demonstrated teaching, research, and administrative experience to head these Chairs. The successful applicants would have a broad expertise in two domains of knowledge, namely Islamic Studies and one of the above (or related) fields. The position offers an attractive salary package based on experience. The appointment will be initially for two (2) years, extendable by mutual consent.
