Scholarship Opportunity at NJV Higher Secondary School (Afternoon School for Day Scholars)

Applications are invited from meritorious students (residents of Sindh) who have passed out Grade V from the Schools being run by the School Education & Literacy Department, GoS and intend to complete their post-primary education from quality Public Sector Educational institutions. The Scholarships are being offered for the academic year 2019-20 under the second phase of the Sindh School Education Scholarship Program (SSESP) being nlanaged by the Sindh Education Foundation. This offer is for the students residing in the three districts of the Karachi Division: i.e. Korangi, South and Central; for getting admission at NJV Higher Secondary School adopted by M/s Akhuwat Foundation. The admission to NJV Higher Secondary School will depend upon the clearance of the entry test (to be administered by M/s Akhuwat Foundation) by the student.

Salient Features of the Scholarship Program a. The Program will finance post-primary education from Grade 6 to Grade 12 whereby the students will be enrolled as day scholars in the Afternoon shift at the NJV Higher Secondary School, Karachi. b. Selection is completely based on merit. c. Students will be financed for the cost of tuition, transport, uniform, learning material and afternoon meal.

Basic Eligibility Criteria: a. The student must be a passed out Grade 5 (bona fide) student of SE&LD School given he/she has studied in any SE&LD School for the last three academic years at least. GR Number and Photocopy of the GR Page attested by concerned District Education Officer (DEO), School Leaving Certificate/ Pass Certificate will be required at the time of admission. b. The student must be a resident of the mentioned districts of Karachi Division i.e. Korangi, South and Central. Student's Form-B / Father's Domicile and copy of Father's CN1C will be required at the time of admission.


Application Procedure: a. The Registration Form (for the Entry Test) is available at http://njv.ed u.pk/sef b. Please attach the Copy of Bank Deposit Slip of Rs.600 /-(non-refundable) as application processing fee, in favour of concerned Institution's Bank Account as given below. Fee can be deposited through any branch of Bank Islam' anywhere in Sindh. Completely filled in Registration Form, duly endorsed by the concerned Head Teacher (as per the requirements contained therein) along with 04 passport size pictures and the original Bank deposit slip must be submitted in hard form at NJV Higher Secondary School, MA Jinnah Road, Karachi by courier or by hand. In case the submitted Registration Forms are not duly filled in, and/or fail to meet the requisite criteria, such Forms will be rejected.
The Entry Test: a. The Entry Test shall comprise of Ma) type question (the subjects include; English (33%), Math (34%) & Science (33%). b. The Entry Test will assess the candidates on the basis of required competencies in the above mentioned subjects at Grade V level in accordance with the National Curriculum (course stream of Sindh Text Book Board) c. Important Note: a. This opportunity is being offered to the interested eligible candidates from the Korangi, South and Central districts of the Karachi Division. District wise Merit Lists will be drawn up whereby equal number of candidates (studying in SE&LD Schools) will be selected from each district against a total number of 78 seats. c. The admission will be subject to the verification of Photocopy of the GR Page by concerned Head Teacher &Taluka Education Officer (TEO), Father's Domicile/Form-B, copy of Father's CNIC and School leaving Certificate/Pass Certificate. SEF in the order of merit. A total number of 27 SEF students will be selected given they have a documentary proof that they have studied in any SEF School for the last three academic years at least Procedure will be communicated by SEF in due course of time. Selected students' parents will sign an undertaking with SEF that their son/daughter will continue their education up to Grade 12 under the Scholarship Program. In case of any omission or misrepresentation, SEF will not be responsible and reserves the right to reject the application at any stage.
