1. Eligibility Conditions for appointment of the above faculty excluding Engineering, Information Technology, Computing Sciences, Law & Art & discipline:-
Position Minimum Qualifications Experience Minimum Number of Publications
Lecturer First Class MS/MPhil/equivalent degree awarded after 18 Years of education in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution with no 3rd division in the academic career.

Condition of no 3rd division shall not be applicable in the qualification of appointment as lecturer in Universities or Degree Awarding Institutions provided that the candidate holds a higher degree viz PhD or equivalent degree with not more than one 3rd division in entire academic career.

No experience Nil

Assistant Professor Ph.D. in the relevant field from HEC recognized University/Institution. No experience required.
Nil

Associate Professor Ph.D. in the relevant field from the HEC recognized University/ Institution. 10 years teaching/research experience in the HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization.
OR
4 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research experience in the HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. The applicant must have 10 publications (with at least 4 publications in the last five years) in the HEC recognized Journals.

2. Eligibility conditions for appointment of faculty in Engineering, Information Technology, and Computing disciplines:-

Associate Professor Ph.D in the relevant field from Institution recognized by HEC in consultation with PEC. 10 years teaching/research experience in a recognized Institution/College/University or 10 years professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization out of which 2 years must be teaching experience.
OR
4-years post-Ph.D. teaching/ research experience in an HEC recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization. 10 research publications (with at least 4 publications in the last 5 years) in HEC/PEC recognized Journals.






ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
_ Qualification: Ph.D. Degree/Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution) and excellent written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
Note: Ph.D. thesis of the local degree holders must have been evaluated by two foreign Experts as per HEC guidelines for award of Ph.D. degree, in case foreign evaluation was not done then the candidate must provide evidence of two publications in Journals recognized by the HEC for the purpose of Tenure Track appointment.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
_ Qualification: Ph.D. Degree/ Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution).
_ Experience: 6-years Post-Ph.D. or minimum of 4-years of post-Ph.D. experience along with at least 6 years of experience prior to the Ph.D. (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization)
_ Publications: 10 research publications (with at least 4 publications in the past 5 years) in Journals recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y for Social Sciences while for Science disciplines papers published in only W category (Impact Factor) Journals.
PROFESSOR
_ Qualification: Ph.D. Degree/ Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution).
_ Experience: 11-years Post-Ph.D. or minimum of 7-years of post-Ph.D. experience along with at least 12 years of experience prior to the Ph.D. (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization)
_ Publications: 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in the past 5 years) in Journals recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y for Social Sciences while for Science disciplines papers published in only W category (Impact Factor) Journals.
INSTRUCTIONS
• Ph.D. degree holder will not be considered for Assistant Professor under BS system.
• Okara University in-service (regular/permanent) Ph. D teachers may apply on BS (if the post is advertised for BS/TTS).
• Foreign degree holders must provide equivalence certificate issued by the HEC
• All rules in letter & spirit of TTS version 2.0 & BS are applicable.
• The candidates applying for the post of Professor/Associate Professors under BS/TTS should submit six copies of applications alongwith six complete sets of testimonials/ research work/publications/photograph (1x1)/certificate of any distinction etc., on the relevant prescribed form.
• The candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professors/Lecturers under BS/TTS are required to submit one copy of application on the relevant prescribed form alongwith attested copies of degrees/certificates/testimonials/ photograph (1x1)/ certificate of any distinction etc.
• Candidates applying for the post of Associate Professors under BS/TTS are required to submit a crossed bank draft/deposit in HBL of University of Okara of Rs.3000/-. The candidates applying for the posts of Assistant Professors/Lecturers under BS/TTS are however, required to submit a bank draft/deposit in HBL of University of Okara of Rs.1500/-. The bank draft should be drawn in favour of the Treasurer, University of Okara.S
• Both types of prescribed applications forms are obtainable from the Book Shop, University of Okara, Main Campus Renalakhurd and City Campus Okara on payment of Rs. 25/- each and also available at the University website www.uo.edu.pk.
• The candidates applying under TTS, they must fill the performa for grant of advanced increments available at the University website www.uo.edu.pk. (if he/she has never opted TTS an where else).
• Candidates already in service on TTS with any other University/Institution should attach clear NOC that if the candidate is selected, the University/Intuition will relieve him/her under the rules and if such an NOC is not attached with the application, such applications shall be rejected.
• If the candidate who has applied on TTS and selected in any other University during the process of selection , he/she would be required to send immediately an NOC from the employer, falling which the application will be rejected ab-initio.
• Candidates applying under both systems should submit separate applications along with complete documents together with required postal order/bank draft for each application.
• Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel by due date and submit service certificates issued by their present and former employers, otherwise, their applications will not be entertained. Incomplete applications (in any case) or those received after due date shall also not be entertained.
• The candidates should attach a separate list of attached documents with signature.
• The candidates should mention the date of Notification/Result and time period of the degree in the relevant column of prescribed form.
• In case of Assistant Professor/Lecturer only short listed candidates will be called for interview.
• The University reserves the rights to increase/decrees the number of post, not to fill/withdraw any post, withhold the appointment against any advertised post without assigning any reason.
