1- Consultant Microbiologist / Infection Control (Part Time):
Applicants should have a Degree of FCPS / Fellowship from Royal College of Physicians or equivalent. Fresh candidates may also apply.

2- Medical Officer (Intensive Care Unit):
Applicants should have experience in ICU preferably in a renal hospital. Skills in Incubating Patients / Central Line Insertion are essential. Applicants who have completed FCPS / MCPS Training in Anesthesia will be preferred.

3- Medical Officer (Emergency Department):
Applicants should have experience in Emergency, preferably in a renal hospital. Skills in Intubating Patients and Central Line Insertion are essential. Those who have completed their training in FCPS-II (Nephrology or Medicine) will be preferred.

4- In-charge Pharmacy:
Candidates should have a Degree of Pharm-D or B-Pharmacy, with minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in a reputed hospital, skills in Hospital Pharmacy and Inventory Management, handling storage and addressing issues with Inventory control.
Candidates should have excellent Communication Skills and Computer Knowledge.

TKC is a not-for-profit specialized hospital providing quality care to patients suffering from kidney disease. TKC opened its door to the public in 1985 with a small dialysis unit consisting of just two machines. Today, TKC provides comprehensive quality renal care to patients suffering from kidney and bladder problems. It has 100 in-patient beds, four operating theatres, and intensive care unit (with ventilators) for both adults and paediatrics, and a full range of Urological, Nephrological and transplant services.
Patients suffering from kidney diseases are at risk of having other diseases as well, therefore the Centre also offers non-invasive Cardiology services as well as Gastroenterology services with Endoscopic facility. Consulting Clinics provide services in almost all specialties including nephrology, urology, transplant, cardiology, haematology, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, psychiatry, diabetology, paediatrics, physiotherapy and nutrition.
Being a community project, TKC has also undertaken the task of educating the masses about common renal ailments which, when left unattended, lead to drastic, life threatening complications. It is very active in educating and spreading knowledge about health and disease prevention at all levels of society including schools, workplaces and public places. It continuously engages in activities and events whereby education and awareness is maximized.
The Kidney Centre was awarded certificate in 2007. The NPO Certification for meeting standards in the areas of internal governance, financial management, and programme delivery by the PCP in 2017. The PCP renews the certification every three years.

For your convenience, ATM is located near the entrance of the Emergency department.
Visiting hours
Weekdays: 4:00-6:00 pm
Sunday’s and public holidays: 10:00 am-12:00 noon and 4:00-6:00 pm
The visitor’s cards are issued at the time of admission to each patient and visitors are only allowed to enter the ward on showing these cards.
Patients have a right to restrict visitors. All such requests should be given to your nurse who will notify security.
Children under 12 years of age and persons suffering from infectious diseases are not permitted in the hospital to visit patients at any time.
Visitors are strictly prohibited in the ICU.
Admission procedure
Patients are either admitted to the ward through emergency or from out-patient clinic. The patient can choose to stay at general ward, semi private, private room or deluxe suite.
All related information including estimates of expenses likely to be incurred during your stay can be obtained from admissions office located at the ground floor. Elective admissions are done from 9:00 am-5:00 pm whereas after office hours admissions are carried out from emergency reception which is opening round-the-clock.
Reference letters of organizations on hospital panel are accepted instead of payment.
Discharge procedure
The patient is discharged from a ward/room usually during working hours. However, the patient billing and cash counters are open 24 hours a day. Patients Account File is transferred from ward to the billing office for tabulation, verification and settlement of dues. This process takes from 3-4 hours to one and a half hours. The patient desiring an early discharge may deposit an estimated lump sum amount prior to final settlement of dues on a subsequent day.
During your stay
• It is mandatory for all admitted patients to wear patient uniform.
• It is not advisable to bring jewelry, excessive cash or other valuable items. Hospital will not take any responsibility for your belongings and valuables.
• Attendants are not allowed in general ward and semi private rooms. However, one attendant may stay in private room.
• Smoking, chewing pan or tobacco, gum and chalia are not allowed in the premises.
• Fire arms and weapons of all kind are strictly prohibited. Security may check brief cases, parcels and handbags at the main entrance gate or may request a body/vehicle search, if necessary.
• Due to limited parking space, visitors are requested to park their cars outside the main hospital gate. However, they can bring their cars to drop or pick-up patients.
• Please refrain from giving cash/gift rewards/tips to employees as it is strictly prohibited.
• Hospital Services feedback form is available at the nursing counter and in Cafeteria. Your evaluation and suggestion will help us identify areas for improvement and correct any problems you may have experienced while seeking treatment at The Kidney Centre. The filled forms are to be kept in the suggestion boxes placed at key locations of the hospital.

Inpatient Services

Wards
TKC has 100 beds in operation including 40 General, 10 Semi-Private, 20 Private, 2 Deluxe beds, 8 pediatric, 8 ER beds and 9 ICU beds. The in-patient ward is fitted with Central Nurse Call System and Central Oxygen and Suction facilities. Bed charges include meals (breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner) whereas snacks and drinks are available till late at night on extra charges.
Each semi private room accommodates two patients with a curtain between the two beds. These rooms are centrally air-conditioned and a telephone is provided for both patients. Private and deluxe rooms are also air conditioned and have facilities like television, telephone, toiletries, newspaper/magazines, extra couch for the attendant etc.
The direction of Qibla is indicated in patient rooms. Prayer carpet, Holy Quran and Holy Bible are available at the nursing station.
Intensive Care Unit
A nine bedded ICU is fully equipped with latest Monitoring System for monitoring blood pressure, ECG, temperature and pulse oxymetry. Central Suction and Oxygen Supplies are also available along with ventilators to support both surgical as well as medical patients.
Operation Theatres
The operation theatre suite is well designed to cater to modern needs. It has four fully functioning operating rooms. All kinds of open and endoscopic/ laparoscopic procedures are done including Renal Transplant. The broad urological armamentarium includes 2 C-arm image intensifiers, laser equipment for both stones and Prostate, Laporoscopysets, complete upper and lower urinary tract equipment including Nephroscope, Rigid and Flexible Ureteroscopes, Swiss Lithoclast, high power diathermy machine and high definition endo camera with monitor.
The surgical suite also includes a 4-bed recovery room with complete post-operative monitoring facilities.

The dialysis program was established in July 1989 with just 02 stations and gradually increased to 31 stations. However, owing to the ever growing number of renal patients, we recently expanded our dialysis unit. The dialysis unit situated at the 6th floor became operational in September 2014.
