Department Profile

The Department of Liver Transplant and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Shifa International Hospital is the busiest transplant center in the country, the program performs 120 liver transplant and between 70-100 HPB procedures annually. Exposure includes living donor transplant and HPB surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the liver, gall bladder, bile ducts and pancreas. This is a clinical fellowship with an active research component. The program seeks dedicated individuals who want to excel in the field of HPB surgery and liver transplant for its three-years fellowship program. The program offers structured with periodic evaluation of its fellows in order to be promoted to the next level.

Eligibility Includes

1) PMDC registration 2) FCPS in General surgery
Following candidates will be preferred
1) Candidates with research experience (presentation/publications) will be given preference 2) Candidates within ten years of medical school graduation will be preferred 3) Candidates with prior exposure to HPB surgery and liver transplantation will also be preferred. Interested candidates are required to fill on-line application form and submit hard copy of the on-line application form along with required documents and processing fee to the Department of Postgraduate Medical Education, Medical Staff Affairs either personally or through reliable courier sei vice.
