Sugar Sector Expert

IHT is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team for “Implementation of Resource and Energy Efficient Technologies in the Sugar Sector of Pakistan” project as a Sugar Sector Expert.

Scope of Work:

Detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Sugar Production; Both Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) and Life Cycle Impact assessment (LCIA) will be undertaken as part of the LCA using ISO 14040 standard.
Support in establishment of the National Support Cell in conjunction with PSMA which will be essentially a pool of technical, financial and regulatory experts, providing consultancy to sugar sector on R&EE technology.
Support in formulation of standardized technical Specifications for R&EE initiatives in coordination with PSMA and solution providers, based on assessment of available designs and indigenous manufacturing capacity.
Review of case studies for progressive sugar mills who have implemented R&EE measures at their facilities.
Carry out discussions with procurement staff of Sugar mills and Farmers to address the issues/reservations of both sides and to come up with solutions towards formation of short-term and long-term supply contracts between farmers and sugar mills.
Duration:

The duration of the assignment is 3 years.
Skills & Qualifications:

At least 5-10 years’ experience in Sugar Industry.
Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Masters will be preferred.
Fluency in English (writing and speaking).
Profound knowledge of Sugar process & ISO 14040 standard.
Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
Track record of similar assignments.
Experience in procurement/supply chain (will be an added advantage).

Environmental Expert

IHT is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team for “Implementation of Resource and Energy Efficient Technologies in the Sugar Sector of Pakistan” project as an Environmental Expert.

Scope of Work:

Assisting the Sugar Sector Expert in development of Detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of Sugar Production.
Review of Carbon Footprint Reports for Sugar Mills.
Duration:

6-month assignment spread over a period of 2 years.
Skills & Qualifications:

At least 3-5 years’ experience in Sugar Industry.
Bachelors in Environmental Sciences.
Fluency in English (writing and speaking).
Basic knowledge of Sugar process & ISO 14040 standard.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Track record of similar assignments.

Feasibility Experts

Scope of Work:

Review of energy and production data from sugar mills
Analysis of existing energy consumption profile of sugar mills
Liaison with other technical experts and sugar mill counter parts
Develop Technical & Financial Feasibilities and Business Cases for sugar mills
Develop Carbon Footprint Reports for Sugar Mills
Respond to queries from sugar mill on the feasibility reports and address the shortcomings.
Duration:

The duration of the assignment is 2 years.
Skills & Qualifications:

1- 2 years’ of work experience. Fresh graduates can also apply.
Bachelors in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Fluency in English (writing and speaking).

Scope of Work:

The policy expert will be responsible for interaction with National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (NEECA), conducting baseline policy review, coordinating with international policy expert to perform gap analysis and making recommendations to be incorporated in the revised draft of the National Energy Conservation Policy

Duration:

6-month assignment spread over a period of 2 years.
Skills & Qualifications:

At least 3-5 years’ of similar work experience.
Bachelors/Masters in Environmental, Public Policy or any other related discipline.

Scope of Work:

The expert will be responsible for setting up a Monitoring and Evaluation System on the basis of logical framework (already in place) which will comprise complete set of formatted quantitative and qualitative reporting sheets for monitoring and evaluation purposes ensuring that the project achieves its results and objectives in an effective and timely manner.

Duration:

24-month assignment spread over a period of 3 years.
